Soon the Milwaukee Brewers could be the ninth team in baseball to be officially taken out of 2010 playoff contention (their "elimination number" is 10). They currently have a losing record of 65-74 (.468). The Milwaukee Brewers are historically a below-average team. Since starting in 1969, the franchise has a losing record of 3,090 wins and 3,396 losses. The team has made it to the playoffs three times and won just one pennant (the AL Pennant in 1982, after which they lost the World Series in 7 games to the St. Louis Cardinals). The Brewers had a losing record last year also (80-82).
